How we care for you in your home away from home
At the Hygge Hotel, we take pride in offering guests the cocoon of calm and serenity they always love coming back to after a busy day out in Brussels. In order to maintain in these times the feeling we have created over the years of a home away from home, we have sought the guidance of both the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Local Health Authorities to devise a plan that would ensure absolute comfort and peace of mind to our guests.
Tailored Staff training and enhanced procedures
We’re always smiling behind our mask! All our staff members have received new, tailored training specific to their role to help create a spotless, warm and welcoming environment in which you will feel perfectly safe. New procedures and protocols help us bring that little extra- special touch to the hosts we always were, through enforced personal hygiene recommendations all the way to effective case management.
Cleaning and hygiene standards have always been high at the Hygge Hotel and our newest protocols and procedures have simply raised the bar a little higher still. We ensure all public areas and high-contact surfaces are kept spotless, thanks to thorough, repeated cleaning at regular intervals throughout the day with cleaning products and disinfectants approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
In addition to these strict protocols, our Reception desk is disinfected between every check-in and check-out, including disinfection of payment terminals, keypads, pens and all items or surfaces touched by either a guest or a receptionist.
Rooms are of course sanitized between each stay according to guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation and implemented in accord with the Local Authorities specific recommendations.
It’s always easy to social distance at the Hygge Hotel
With under 60 rooms cleverly distributed throughout the building, the Hygge Hotel already provides an intimate setting where crowds and gatherings of any sort are easy to avoid. Nonetheless, we have implemented a rope and markings system throughout the property to serve as reminders to guests of safe distances to be kept between oneself and others.
Only 1 person or party staying in the same room will be allowed at once in one elevator while the use of staircases is always a great option to burn off all those chocolate and waffle calories accumulated during the day!
A new, intimate breakfast experience
In order to minimise contact between guests staying at the Hygge, individual breakfast boxes will be made available at Reception for those having booked a stay with breakfast. These boxes will each contain 1 croissant, 1 pain au chocolat, 1 slice of bread with jam and Nutella, 1 orange juice, 1 fruit (either a kiwi or an apple), A coffee and disposable cutlery.

Health and hygiene stations are strategically placed throughout the hotel to remind guests of personal hygiene best practices while also allowing guests to disinfect their hands quickly and easily with the sanitizer provided.
