Between 28 November 2025 and 1 January 2026, Brussels hosts Winter Wonders (Plaisirs d’Hiver / Winterpret), turning the historic centre into a glowing winter trail of chalets, attractions and lights. With around 238 Christmas chalets spread between Grand-Place, Sainte-Catherine, the Vismet, De Brouckère, Bourse and Place de la Monnaie, the event draws millions of visitors for five weeks of festive food, crafts and music.
The 2025 edition puts solidarity and creativity at the heart of the programme. On Grand-Place, the Christmas tree becomes a “solidarity tree”, with its decorations auctioned in aid of food banks once the festivities are over. On Place Poelaert, a brand-new mini Christmas village offers sweet treats, hot drinks and a breathtaking view over Brussels, while also serving as a toy collection point for children in need. An official interactive map helps you find your way through the different squares, chalets and artworks.
Families, couples and friends will love wandering between Sainte-Catherine and the Vismet, where the Ferris wheel and craft stalls create a fairy-tale backdrop, or taking a spin on the ice rink and curling rinks at Place De Brouckère, which remain open for some attractions until 4 January 2026.
From Hygge Hotel, located in the Ixelles / Louise area, you are just a short tram or metro ride away from the city centre and all Winter Wonders locations. Spend the day wrapped in a scarf under the Christmas lights, then return to our Scandinavian-inspired interiors, soft lighting and calm garden to warm up with a drink before bedtime.
To keep things easy, Brussels encourages visitors to reach Winter Wonders by public transport, train or bicycle. From Hygge, you can walk up to Place Poelaert and continue down to the Christmas village, or hop on a nearby tram or metro to Bourse, De Brouckère or Sainte-Catherine.
If you enjoy combining city break shopping, culture and Christmas atmosphere, Hygge Hotel offers the perfect balance: close to Avenue Louise and museums by day, and connected to Winter Wonders’ lights and flavours by night.
